Picasa Web Album
Online Albums For Storing and Sharing
The Picasa Web Album website is different than Picasa 3. It is an online photo storage and sharing site.
You can use each of the products individually, but they work extremely well together.
You can
upload photos to Picasa Web Albums in various ways.
Upload any photos from your computer by browsing to the folder the pictures are stored in. You can also upload photos directly in and from Picasa 3. When you upload digital pictures, you can either create a new Album or add to an existing one.
If you create an Album in
Picasa 3, you can upload it to the website, and you can also
synchronize between Picasa software and the Picasa Album website.
Note! The new Picasa 3.5 allows you to upload images from your cell phone, digital camera, media card, etc directly to Picasa Web Albums!
The option to sync is in Picasa 3. Only changes made in the software will sync to the web. Changes made in Web Albums will not sync back with the software Albums that are on your computer in Picasa 3. Therefore changes to be synchronized between the two places must be made in Picasa 3.

Privacy and Viewing Options
Unlisted - No one will be able to see your albums unless they have the specific website address for them. The address is intricate and difficult for someone to guess. You can, of course, send this address to anyone you like for viewing.
Sign-in Required to View - Only visitors that you specify will be able to view the Album.
Public - Anyone can view your Albums. The photos in your Albums also are in public searches for Picasa Web Albums, Google Image Search and other places.
Having Fun
There are some things to do with your albums that are fun. For example, you can add a slide show of an Album to your Blogger blog or to your website. Here is a sample of one of my Albums that I placed on this page. It was very easy!
You can also just add the Album photos.
Sharing Your Photo Albums
Click the Share button. An email box will pop up and all you have to do is enter an email address. The person will receive the link to your page, and the email will come from your gmail address. You can also just copy and paste the URL into any email you want to send.
If you want to explore other photos in the community, click the Explore button. You can view Featured Photos, Recent Photos, or just search for photos by keyword.
Picasa Albums is a very nice site to store and share photos. You are allowed 1GB of storage. Once you reach this limit, you can upgrade. In addition, each photo can be a maximum size of 20MB.
